With 6000 islands and islets, a great climate, safe waters and miles of sandy beaches, Greece has always been an ideal Mediterranean vacation destination.
While Santorini , Crete, Corfu and Rhodes are the most visited, don't overlook the other 220+ inhabited islands.
It can be hard to choose which ones to to visit. Hopefully these eight guidelines will assist with your decision.
IMAGINE yourself on the teak deck of a timelessly elegant clipper ship, a warm breeze blowing in your face as the crew unfurl 54,000 square feet of sails above you.
You begin to tingle head to toe.
As you sail into the sunset, you sigh when you realize this is one of the most incredible experiences you have ever had.

This picture above gets many a conversation started.
"Ohhhh, I want to do that!"
I agree. Nothing like cruising along beautiful sunny coastlines, hearing the sound of waves below and the winds above filling out the sails. And one can't forget simply relaxing on the teak decks of a tall sail ship.
A perfect vacation for someone, who, like me, loves the water and sailing but wouldn't dare try to sail anything on their own (at least not with extensive training or hiring a captain), and especially not over greater distances.
Nope. I would much prefer an experienced crew taking me to quiet, hidden gem ports, comfortable cabins, fine dining and the opportunity to think I'm working by helping raise the sails or steering the ship. Almost like having my own private yacht, but travelling with a few like minded people like me.
Come, step on board and forget everyday life for a week or two!
A number of years ago I had the opportunity to visit Lago Maggiore in Italy's northern lake district, and I immediately fell in love with the area. What's not to love - a picturesque lake surrounded by majestic mountains, gorgeous scenery and quaint villages. Of course the unbelievable views from the villa we were guests at didn't hurt either.
So when a friend asked about Bellagio on Lake Como (Lago di Como), I was immediately intrigued. I've known about Lake Como for a while (yes - of George Clooney fame), also located in the lake district, but I wasn't that familiar with Bellagio.

The Whitsunday Islands are off the central coast of Queensland, an hour and a half flight from Brisbane and on the Great Barrier Reef. This group of 74 islands is often described as being synonymous with paradise, well deserved with its beautiful white and sunny beaches, incredible marine life, stunning coral reefs, great food, drink and luxury resorts. A perfect spot for a little (or a lot) of romance and down time!
If you love to walk uncrowded beaches, snorkel, dive, sail or just plain unwind and relax, the Whitsundays offer plenty of options for you.
