​Join me as we cruise through the lovely Bordeaux region in Southwest France.  We will travel 8 days, Bordeaux roundtrip, on Avalon's Artistry II Suite Ship, experiencing world-class vineyards, charming villages, beautiful chateaux, UNESCO sites, amazing history, art, landscapes and countless other treasures.  And, no doubt, sampling the region's delicious cuisine and wines.

​DAY 1: Bordeaux 
Embarkation - free day to explore the city - a great time to take a walk along Bordeaux's beautiful waterfront.​
DAY 2: Cadillac-Sur-Garonne - Take a guided tour of Château de la Brêde, Montesquieu's birthplace - the French philosopher known for his theory of Separation of Powers or enjoy a wine tasting of the region's beloved Sauternes wine.

DAY 3: Cussac Fort Medoc - Today, enjoy a lovely e-bike ride through the region's vineyards or enjoy a guided visit to a historic chateau with wine tasting, showcasing the areas Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. 
DAY 4: Blay-Bourg 
On the east of the Gironde estuary, Blay is known for its Citadel (a UNESCO site) and the red wine produced in the area.  The small village of Bourg has a long history dating back to the Roman times - 2000 years!
DAY 5: Libourne - Visit the medieval village of Saint-Emilion - a UNESCO world heritage site of legends and legendary landscapes.

DAY 6: Bordeaux - Explore France's wine capital and 6th largest city.  While known for wine, the city offers so much more, including amazing architecture and UNESCO sites.   
DAY 7: Bordeaux - Join an all day excursion to the seaside resort town of Arcachon, famous for its oysters, lovely beaches and 19th century villas.
DAY 8: Bordeaux - Disembarkation. Today we say Au revoir.  Spend a few extra days in the region or maybe in Paris.
