Favorite Cruise Lines Cocktails - Part 1

When I'm out cruising, I can always tell when a bartender is doing a superb job.  The bar is busy, a small crowd may be gathering, lots of laughter all around (and of course, the drinks are flowing!)

Our favorite bartenders aren't making our favorite cocktails for us at the moment, but they have been busy sharing their "secret" recipes. Here are a few of my favorites:

​The STAR CLIPPER

Ingredients
  • Meyer Rum
  • Apricot Brandy
  • Creme de Banana
  • Pineapple juice

Blend all ingredients with ice and pour into glass. Garnish with pineapple, strawberry and a fun paper umbrella if you have it. Salud!

​The KARMA CHAMELEON

Ingredients
  • Cardamon infused vodka
  • Elderflower liquor
  • Midori liquor
  • Pineapple juice
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice

Blend all ingredients and pour into glass.

​The MOJITO from the Sunset Bar

Ingredients
  • Light or aged rum (2 oz.)
  • Simple syrup (0.75 oz.)
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice (0.75 oz.)
  • ​Sprigs of mint
  • Soda water

Put a few sprigs of mint and ice into a glass.  Blend (shake) all ingredients and pour into the glass using a strainer.  Top off with soda water and a another big sprig of mint.

​The MANHATTAN

Ingredients
  • Whisky, (2 oz.)
  • Sweet Vermouth (0.75 oz)
  • Angoustra bitters (a dash)

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker, pack with ice to the top. Shake or stir & pour into a martini glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

​The STRAWBERRY AND BASIL SMASH

Ingredients
  • Hendricks Gin (1.5 oz.)
  • Fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz)
  • Simple syrup (0.5 oz)
  • Basil leaves (4)
  • Strawberries  (2)
  • Top up with Prosecco

Crush the basis and strawberries.  Add ice, gin, lemon juice and simple syrup.  Shake well. Pour into a new glass and top with Prosecco.  Garnish with a strawberry.
